ABLE TO WORK WITH CHICAGO MANUAL & ASSOCIATED PRESS STYLES
A complete overhaul of the manuscript, concentrating on every element of the author's writing (plot, characterization, style, tone, etc.). This service will take into consideration industry standards, keeping in mind the author's intended target audience.
Copy editing consists of taking a deeper look at the manuscript and editing for grammar, sentence structure, and overall tone and style. This is a micro-edit that focuses on the words and sentences individually, rather than the work as a whole.
This service is the last step before sending out the work to be published; it is the final overview of the manuscript to ensure all elements are sound, and that there are no other errors.
project review | $50
This service produces a written review of the book, which the author may use as testimonials in their marketing campaigns for the project. All referenced review phrases must be accompanied by the editor's name and organization (i.e. Amanda Andrews, The Reader's Asylum).
synopsis write-up | $35
Authors may request a synopsis write-up to coincide with their project, which the author may use in part or in full within the final product.
$15 an hour
Each finished project would come with a complete time sheet that details the date, time, word count, and completed pages of each editing session. This allows full disclosure to the author of the time spent on editing their project.
Typically takes one hour to edit 5,000 words.
Example: For a 300-page book with a total of 90,000 words, it would take approximately 20 hours to finish editing. Final cost would therefore be $300.
